A Dying Leaf…

I am a dried leaf in autumn,

Fallen on a dirt road,

Shredded and crushed;

Waiting to be swiped away.

Hoping to be reborn again,

Though monsoon is far away,

I know I’ll come again.

As green as ever,

I’ll make the tree glow.

The rain droplets will slide like children,

And mix with the river that flows.

I’ll make everything picture perfect,

Lo and behold!

I’ll dance with the winds and stand through the storms.

I’ll provide shade to the needy seeking me from so long.

Hoping to be reborn again,

Though monsoon is far away,

I know I’ll come,

Once again!

Autumn leaves
